ABOUT THE ONLY BRUSH

We recommend using the dry brush morning and night. With your head flipped upside down, brush from back to front and side to side for 60 seconds. You want to feel the teeth of the brush on your scalp, taking the follicles in directions they never get to go. While your head is flipped upside down the blood flow is moving, boosting the follicle root. Once you flip upright, give your hair a few moments to settle, using your fingers to help where needed.

We believe in dry brushing. Dry brushing is about maintenance, while wet brushing is about an aesthetic choice. Dry brushing is like exercising your hair and scalp. Just as the whole body benefits from daily movement, our hair and scalp also like to be moved around and challenged a little bit. After working with thousands of clients, we can confidently say that starting a daily dry brushing practice will yield more benefits over time than any other tools or products we have ever seen.

All hair types will see benefits from consistent dry brushing. For those whose aging hair is thinning, this is the best preventative tool we have to help strengthen the hair at the root. For those who wear their hair curly and don’t typically use a brush or want to disrupt their finished look, we suggest dry brushing before showering or rinsing one’s hair to reap the benefits. Brush whenever and wherever you can because we promise the effort will pay off.

Use a regular comb to clean out your brush every 5-10 days. Tap the brush along a counter or wall after combing to shake out small debris. Your brush will contain a lot of build up, which is totally normal and a healthy benefit of dry brushing to remove it from your scalp. Once every 3-6 months use our Only Cleanser to clean your brush more thoroughly if needed. Softly rinse the bristles and then mindfully work the cleanser through the brush pad. Never submerge your brush and make sure to air dry completely after cleansing, especially in natural direct sunlight, if possible.

Yes. Shedding, dust, and debris are common, normal and healthy. On average we lose 100 follicles a day as part of the healthy regenerating scalp ecosystem. The atmosphere alone carries fine particles that we can barely see that get lodged in our hair, so it’s great to actually see the build up in your brush as it means you’re tending to your hair. For people who struggle with dry scalp or harsh climates, this exercise is a game changer. Releasing dry skin from the scalp means your follicles will be able to breathe and gain strength.

While the objective is to dry brush your scalp, you can do both! If you have long, easily tangled hair, or super long and thick hair, getting to your scalp might be more of a challenge. Start at the ends and brush gently and thoroughly to the midshaft before flipping your head upside down. Then brush from scalp to the ends using your other hand to hold some of the weight of your hair. Turn your head slightly to access your scalp as you brush through your hair in sections.

ABOUT THE ONLY OIL

Oil is truly the best way to deliver vitamins and minerals directly to your hair. The truest form of conditioning, this oil was created to protect and restore your hair’s natural vibrancy. Molecularly engineered, its nutrients are small enough to effectively penetrate the hair shaft and reinforce its integrity for lustrous gorgeous locks.

You can do both. For a styled finished look, apply about a half pump at midshaft and work through to the ends. Add more as desired. As a pre-cleansing multivitamin treatment, generously apply 3-6 pumps and work into the scalp, following with a thorough dry brushing.

A little bit goes a long way. Start small at the midshaft, avoiding the root, working it through to the ends for a styled finish. Use 1-2 pumps daily, applied from back to front when the head is flipped upside down.

Play with it and see how your hair responds. As your hair becomes acclimated to the oil, you may want to use more, so use as needed. Using small amounts of oil over time will yield compounding benefits. If you find your hair feeling greasy and oily, you’re probably using too much so scale back until you find the right amount.

Apply after styling to reduce frizz, create movement, and give your hair a beautiful boost.

Brush, brush, brush. Brushing distributes buildup from the scalp to the follicle below, reducing the appearance of flat, oily hair.

ABOUT THE ONLY CLEANSER

This really depends on the amount of hair you have. If you have short to medium length hair, use a half dollar-sized amount, focusing on the scalp first and adding a little water to evenly distribute and work the product around. For longer or thicker hair, start with the same amount, but begin at the zone of greatest density at the back of the head. Once thoroughly worked through there, use another half dollar amount to work through the rest of your scalp and hair. Add more cleanser as needed. For a deeper cleansing, rinse thoroughly and repeat.

Most people will need to cleanse their hair every 5-7 days, depending on your hair type and routine. We recommend not wetting your hair every time you shower. Instead, dry brush prior to your daily shower and wrap your hair prior to hopping into the water to keep your hair dry. If you have short hair, use a headband to keep your hair from coming in contact with the water. This method works best with a consistent dry brushing routine, as the brush is actually cleaning your hair for you.

Yes. Our cleanser never contains any of the harsh foaming ingredients that can strip or irritate the scalp. Safe and gentle for all hair, our cleanser purifies the root while building up strength and integrity.
